West
Hartford has committed to purchasing 20% of its electric
supply from clean, renewable energy supplies by 2010. We intend
to lead
by examble and do our share of reducing our environmental footprint.
You
can help us by choosing clean energy for your own home thru your
electric company. For every 100 household purchasers in West Hartford,
the town earns a 1 kwh solar array. It's an easy way to make a difference
for our community, for Connecticut, and for our world.

Town
Hall receives five-panel solar array |
|

|
On
July 8, our first three solar panels were installed on the
roof of town hall and have begun creating clean energy.
Two more will be installed soon for a total fo five panels.
As more panels are earned they will be placed on other public
buildings and schools. For every 100 households that sign
up for clean energy, we earn one solar array panel. Take
a look at the program today and take the first step toward
a cleaner future for West Hartford and the world.
When
you sign up for the CT Clean Energy Options program your
electricity will work the same as it always has and you
will still receive your electric bill from CL&P. The
only difference is that, for just a few extra dollars per
month, you will be supporting cleaner air, reduction of
greenhouse gases, a healthier community and energy independence.
Go to www.ctcleanenergyoptions.com
to learn more and sign up online. And, remember, when filling
out the online form – be sure to put “West Hartford
Task Force” for the question “How did you hear
about us?"

Energy
is called "clean when it's produced by tapping into clean sources
such as solar, wind, waves, and other renewable technologies - and
by not burning air polluting fossil fuels like oil, gas and coal.
Clean energy technologies produce little or no pollution, and they
generate power from energy sources that are in plentiful supply
and virtually never run out. |
