Historic Preservation Awards 2004:
Preserve. . . Protect. . . Perpetuate. . . for Posterity

Linda Howey, chair of the West Hartford's Seventh Annual Historic Preservation Awards Program, is pleased to announce that four properties were honored at a town hall ceremony on May 13th. Mayor Jonathan Harris presented the awards as winners were introduced by Mary M. Donohue, chair of the West Hartford Historic District Commission. (Click here for a photo of the commission)

The Historic Preservation Awards Program was introduced in 1998 to encourage sensitive renovations to any town properties constructed prior to 1945 which maintain traditional value. This year's winners were presented with First Place awards in four different categories. All exemplify the 2004 maxim to "preserve, protect, and perpetuate for posterity." The work they have done will enhance our town for many years to come.
