Noah Webster House

In Noah Webster's childhood home you'll find surprises, history and fun as you step back in time to the 18th century. Once part of a 120 acre farm, Webster's birthplace is now restored to show life as it was on the eve of the American Revolution when Noah was a young boy. You'll learn about colonial life, Noah Webster, and local history.

Noah Webster is one of our nation's most under-appreciated heroes: one who stitched the fabric of our American national identity together - not with laws or guns or roads - but with words.

He was a patriot, schoolmaster, author of the first American Dictionary and the Blue-backed Speller, legislator, lawyer, farmer, father and a man of many talents and ideas.

The Noah Webster House is located at 227 South Main Street, West Hartford, CT 06107. Call (860) 521-5362, or look us up on the World Wide Web. Our web address is http://noahwebsterhouse.org
