Communications Office The Public Communications Office provides a link between the Town of West Hartford and its citizenry by providing public information through the use of a variety of communication tools to deliver a clear, concise and complete message. Public awareness campaigns are developed and aimed at clarifying complex issues, changing or reinforcing behavior, offering seasonal reminders, improving the town’s image, and engaging citizens. Public information is carried out through a variety of methods: electronic (Internet and email list serve), cable TV programming, publications, news media, special events, and person-to-person collaboration. The public relations specialist serves as the Town ‘s webmaster, several town committees, and is on the board of West Hartford Telecommunications Project, a partnership with West Hartford Public Schools and West Hartford Community Access Television that governs the operation of the government and education cable channels (Comcast Channel 19 & 21).
