of West Hartford. Through the program, volunteers are recruited to provide
support services to elderly (aged 60 and over) and disabled residents.
The program also supports the Social Services Division through a variety
of special projects. Services are provided free of charge to residents
of West Hartford, subject to the availability of volunteers.
Referrals
for volunteer services can be made by calling the volunteer office
at
(860) 561-7567. Our trained Social Work staff provides initial assessment
and screening.
Volunteer
training and educational programs are provided on a regular basis for
all volunteers. On-going communication, follow-up and support is provided
for all volunteers by the Volunteer Coordinator.
