Small Metal Collection

Items listed on our bulk metal collection web page requiring a collection permit will no longer be accepted at the monthly small metal collections.
The intent of the small metal collection program was to allow residents with small metal items, such as coffee pots, pots and pans and items of similar size, the opportunity to recycle those items instead of disposing of them with their regular refuse. Only Items that can fit inside in a town-issued blue recycling bin, or a bin of similar size, will be accepted. The contents of the bin cannot weigh more than 60 pounds.
Small metal collections are held at the Brixton Street facility from 9:00 AM to 12:00 noon for West Hartford residents only at the Public Works facility is located on Brixton Street, off of the Oakwood Avenue extension off New Park Ave. This collection will be held on the same day as the Electronics Recycling Collection.
