Guidelines for Bulky / Metal Waste Removal

To have bulky and metal items collected from your West Hartford residence, you must meet all the collection guidelines below:

• When scheduled, your bulky and metal items will be collected from residents on their regular trash collection day.

• After obtaining your bulky and/or metal permit number or numbers, contact Paine's Recycling & Rubbish Removal at (860) 658-9481 prior to 2 pm on the day before your regular collection day. If you have a Monday pickup, you will need to call before 2pm on Friday.

• Bulky and metal items left at curbside without a permit number or without being scheduled for pickup through Paine's Recycling & Rubbish Removal according to the stated deadlines will not be collected.

• Place bulky and metal items out at curbside no earlier than 6:00 pm the day prior to your regular collection and no later than 6:00 am on the morning of your scheduled collection. Please place items away from power lines, power equipment and low hanging branches.

• Bulky and metal waste must be separated from regular trash for collection.

• Bulky and metal items must be loadable by two collection workers

• Only place acceptable bulky and/or metal items at curbside for collection.

• One truck collects scheduled bulky items and a separate truck collects scheduled metal items. The bulky item truck may arrive at different times on your scheduled collection day.
