Reporting Street Lights Out
As of fiscal year 2002-2003, West Hartford's Public Works Department has taken on the job of street light maintenance that was the responsibility of CL&P.
In the past, West Hartford rented the light poles from CL&P and paid a high rate for the energy to power them. Now that we own the light fixtures, we will get a significantly reduced rate for the electricity they use. With 6,175 streetlights in town, it is a big job that should yield a big future savings.
