May 8, 2006 -- The Office of the Secretary of the State held its' 6th annual Public Service Award program and honored professional fire fighters with 20 years or more of service to their town..

In March, Chief Austin was presented the Award for Patriotic Employer on behalf of the National Commission for Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve for contributing to national security and protecting liberty and freedom by supporting the participation of an employee in America's National Guard and Reserve Force. Apparatus Operator JamesPeter Matthews was on Active Military Leave from October 2002 to August 2003 and again from October 2004 to December 2005.
