About the Health District
The West Hartford-Bloomfield Health District is a regional health
department servicing the
towns of West Hartford (pop. 63,133) and Bloomfield
(pop. 21,406). It provides full-time
professional public health services to
residents in both towns. According to 2017 population estimates the combined
area is 48.6 square miles with 84,539 people. The District is governed by an eight member Board appointed by the elected bodies of the member towns (5-West Hartford, 3-Bloomfield).
